At Evanston Woman Magazine, we recognize that recent events related to the current global pandemic, widespread systemic racism, and the failure of our current President to productively and efficiently deal with these issues is profoundly disheartening. It has forced us all to take a step back and re-evaluate our lives and the world around us. We also realize and hope that one day things will get better through the collective action, conversation, and restorative justice.
The inescapable, mounting chaos and anxiety has been distracting the past few several months. Therefore it's easy to forget about the people working in the background, who have been and continue to be committed to ensuring the well-being of those in their community. Especially those who have placed an emphasis on groups that are marginalized and vulnerable.
This fall Evanston Woman Magazine would like to honor and thank the Women of Evanston who have held the fabric and spirit of our very special community together throughout these difficult times, and will continue their hard work and selflessness after these times have passed. We hope to bring positivity with this project and want you to help to! Nominate yourself or another woman who you believe has worked to enrich Evanston through generosity and kindness.
The ten most nominated women will be featured in our fall issue to highlight their individual stories and work within Evanston.Thank you to everyone for their non-stop work, prayers, and love.
We hope for a better 2021 and truly appreciate every nomination please stay safe and aware.
